Sports and leisure: some tracks to follow…

Judo

Did you know that David Douillet, the famous French judoka, was born in the area? In Neufchâtel en Bray, you can see the dojo where the greatest French judoka of all times started to practise this sport, which has brought a lot of impressive medals to France.

Adventure trips in the trees

Situated in Préaux (10 minutes from Fontaine), arbr'en ciel is an adventure park which offers various sport trips in the trees. Thrill guaranteed!

Bike rides

Do you like riding a bike ? The area is well deserved in hiking trails. (1400km in Seine Maritime). We recommend the "'avenue verte' (green avenue), ", a former railroad going from Dieppe to Paris which has been turned into a cycling path. It is accessible to all sorts of non motorized vehicles: bikes, roller blades, tricycles, strollers – sometimes you can also come across pedestrians or horse riders. This ‘avenue verte’ has been developed from Dieppe to Forges-les-Eaux, and parking as well as picnic areas have been installed all along the path to allow accompanying friends to drop-off, pick up or even meet up with the strollers. The atmosphere is civil and familiar. Level crossings have been inverted and now allow cars to go through – cars which however slow down when approaching the ‘avenue verte’. Strollers are being warned about any route coming up, and everything has been put in place for the safety of children and adults.

Golf

Do you like golf ? We count about ten different golf courses and thirteen mini-golf courses in Seine Maritime.

Horse riding, equestrianism.

Horse riding is your thing! And of course, you know that Normandy is the land of the horse… The two horsetracks in Seine-Maritime are close to Fontaine (Mauquenchy is about 15 minutes away).

Water activities

Activities related to water: the sea is less than an hour away (Dieppe), and canoeing down the Seine from Rouen is very enjoyable. You can also find 'fun pools'" , which is fun for both children and their parents, with a peaceful and familiar atmosphere and only a few minutes away from Fontaine.

Amusement parks and wildlife

At the top of the list for amusement parks, you can probably find the Parc du Bocasse which is fun for both children and their parents, with a peaceful and familiar atmosphere and only a few minutes away from Fontaine. The animal park of Clère is a very nice place to visit either alone, with friends or with family, where one can meet animals more or less familiar. You will be fascinated by their aviary and its mynah, by their monkey or again by their kangaroos.
